Shweta or Shreya?

Who will rule the roost from the Gen Next? Both have such mellifluous voices and such a lot of hits in the past few years. The latter seem to have the edge as she is more versatile with Indian languages. "Maavin Chottile" from Oru Naal varum  by the former is matched by "Kizhakku Pookum" from Anwar by the latter!

I do not know how many of you have heard this song " Kankal Irandal" from Subramanyapuram ( 2008) . Rendered flawlessly by Belly Raj and Deepa Mariam, set to music by James Vasanthan . All relatively newcomers to the film scene.
The video of the song is also on youtube... Captivating performance in every aspect..

Alas!

There seems to be a total lack of "music" in today's film songs.. Electronics has overtaken melody and lyrics..
No wonder the blog is drying up............ :(

A New song--
Malayalam music would seem to be in a revival of sorts, if one listens to "Nottam" "Amrutham" and "Out of Syllabus". But these are exceptions. Most of the other songs are visual rather than musical!
